A New York grandmother remains missing nearly two weeks after disappearing during a visit to Las Vegas, prompting her family to launch an extensive search that has included hospitals, morgues and other locations throughout the area. Alisa Goods, a 63-year-old grandmother of five, vanished on August 8 while staying with a longtime friend in the Nevada city, and authorities have since classified her as a missing adult.
Goods had been visiting Roger John, a friend she had known for approximately two decades and whose home she had visited several times previously. According to John's account to local media, Goods left his apartment around midday on August 8 to travel by bus to a nearby CVS pharmacy to purchase items. He told reporters that he watched her depart and did not see her again after that moment. Goods was later spotted at a retail location near Paradise and Flamingo roads, where surveillance indicated she purchased supplements and water. Her family learned of this sighting through conversations with store management, though they did not directly view the surveillance footage themselves.
John alerted Goods' family the evening she disappeared, though he did not file an official missing-person report until two days later. The family's initial uncertainties about John's account have since resolved, with relatives confirming that neither they nor law enforcement consider him a suspect in her disappearance.
