FIRST LOOK: ‘Reasonable Doubt’ Returns With New Faces And A New Case For Season 4

The Hulu legal drama Reasonable Doubt is preparing to launch its fourth season with a significantly expanded cast and a storyline centered on high-stakes celebrity crisis management. The series, which has built a devoted following since its 2022 debut, will see returning star Emayatzy Corinealdi reprise her role as attorney Jax Stewart while navigating fresh complications threatening both her personal life and professional standing.

The upcoming season finds Stewart confronting the aftermath of a violent attack that has reverberated through her family and her law firm, the Stewart Firm. As if managing that fallout were not enough, one of her established clients becomes ensnared in a media scandal of significant proportions, intensifying pressure on the firm just as its survival hangs in question. Stewart must juggle the complexities of a demanding new legal case while simultaneously working to repair the damage caused by recent events, setting the stage for a season of heightened stakes and difficult choices.

Tank, the acclaimed R&B recording artist, joins the ensemble cast as Eric Cropper, a prosperous musician who has retained Stewart as his attorney and maintains a powerful expectation of favorable outcomes. The intricate Cropper family dynamics introduce multiple layers of conflict, with La La Anthony appearing as Melina Cropper, Eric's first wife, and Taylor Polidore Williams, known for her work in Beauty in Black, portraying his second wife Brooke. DeVaughn Nixon completes the Cropper family unit as Eric's younger brother, adding additional complexity to an already tangled situation.

Several notable actors round out the new additions to Stewart's professional sphere. Meagan Good joins as Regina Harris, a district attorney characterized as having both compassion and shrewd judgment. Rutina Wesley enters the series as entertainment journalist Desiree Grant, a character whose background in media reporting could introduce its own complications to the unfolding narrative. These newcomers expand the world surrounding Stewart's law practice and introduce fresh perspectives into her cases and professional challenges.

The cast continuity extends to several returning guest performers who will reprise their previous roles throughout the season. Morris Chestnut, Joseph Sikora and Brandee Evans are among those who will reappear in the series, providing narrative threads that connect to events and relationships established in prior seasons.

The series continues under the creative direction of Raamla Mohamed, who serves as both creator and showrunner while also executive producing. Kerry Washington maintains her executive producer role alongside Pilar Savone, Larry Wilmore, Anton Cropper and Lena Cordina. The show is produced by 20th Television, a division of Disney Television Studios, and remains part of the Onyx Collective programming slate.

Season four of Reasonable Doubt will debut on October 6, with the platform releasing three episodes immediately upon premiere. Additional episodes will roll out on a weekly basis every Tuesday, allowing audiences to follow Stewart's latest legal battle and personal trials as they unfold throughout the season.
