A new Afrobarometer report indicates that most Africans continue to face economic hardship. This situation persists despite slight improvements in economic perceptions that have been noted since the COVID-19 pandemic. Unemployment and the rising cost of living remain top concerns across the 38 countries surveyed for the report. These pervasive issues highlight the ongoing challenges faced by citizens across the continent in their daily lives. The report also reveals that majorities of citizens continue to rate their governments poorly on managing key economic issues. This includes the crucial areas of price stability and job creation, reflecting public dissatisfaction with current economic governance.
